Greenpeace’s new Rainbow Warrior III

On the 12th & 13th November, Inspired People celebrated the birth and launch of Greenpeace’s new Rainbow Warrior III! We travelled from our faithful Bristol to London for the day to be part of one of our favourite client’s very special achievements.

The Rainbow Warrior is one of the reasons Greenpeace has become so well known. In 1978 the Rainbow Warrior I was launched by Greenpeace, ironically having previously been a fishing boat!

The ship’s purpose was initially to be active in supporting a number of Greenpeace protest activities against seal hunting, whaling and nuclear weapons testing during the late 1970s and early 1980s.Charity Jobs

After the Rainbow Warrior II was retired on 16th August 2011, Greenpeace had to raise enough money to build and launch RW III as quickly as possible. This is where our dedicated and passionate Street Fundraisers came into play, talking directly to people on high streets around the UK, instilling that same passion in others and getting those all-important monthly donations from people to the charity (‘Greenpeace Environmental Trust’) in order to make the magic happen.

After a lot of incredibly hard work from the fundraisers, Greenpeace and a lot of volunteers they were ready to launch and show the public how beautiful she is.

On our visit, we saw Greenpeace’s history told in photographs, in short films and even bumped into a lot of familiar faces, including  some of the Street Fundraisers we discovered through our recruitment who were there volunteering, including the lovely Coach, Indi Heath.

We are incredibly proud to work so closely with Greenpeace. If you would like to be part of positive change get in touch and become a charity street fundraiser. There may be a street fundraising team near you.
